It's weird that this is the same firm that is developing Pennway Point and that project is moving along much faster than this one that's been "in progress" for at least 6+ years.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:34 am Why has this project taken SO LONG!?!? Feels like they've been piddling with this building for a decade. Finish it up already.

Grand Place will “finish” when there are tenants.SHPNeighbor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 10:49 amIt's weird that this is the same firm that is developing Pennway Point and that project is moving along much faster than this one that's been "in progress" for at least 6+ years.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:34 am Why has this project taken SO LONG!?!? Entertainment, hospitality, and apartments are comparatively easy to find tenants for

Anchor tenants are usually >40%, that group is around 10% maybe less maybe more.Highlander wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 3:06 pmI thought they had an anchor tenant?langosta wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 12:19 pmGrand Place will “finish” when there are tenants.SHPNeighbor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 10:49 am

I talked to the owner of Brick River a while back. He said they looked at this space but they wanted them to sign a lease for way too much square footage. They passed and took over the Tapcade space which still seems large.

Does the BOK have a drive-thru and did they keep their location (former MOBank) on the Boulevard?

Doesn't look like a drive thru and I think that bok on the Blvd is still running

What about a 24-hour drugstore with a soda fountain/coffee shop/restaurant setup? It could replace the all-night Denny's on Broadway. And yes, it would have a pharmacy. I don't know why Walgreens doesn't bring this idea back.

When I was a kid, there were as many people going into Woolworths just for the luncheonette as there were for shopping in the store.

Yes, they got their special use permit. I testified against it. Bike lane, boulevard, etc, etc. It was modified to basically be not visible from Grand.

Re: OFFICIAL - Grand Place (former KC Star building)
I thought this project had stalled.
I walked around the old Star building Wednesday and there was quite a bit of construction activity in and around the Star building. I seem to recall a nursing company that places temp nurses around the US had leased space in the finished building. Is that still in the works?

Some infrastructure work being done around Grand Place. I’d imagine we’ll hear more about the status of the project in the next month or two
