H&R Block HQ grades?

OK, we've all seen it and if you haven't, here she is...

CDFM's design was described by The Star as an 18-story, glass-sheathed tower, with the first floor reserved for retail space, including a restaurant. The site also will include a three-story auditorium and training center.

I gave it an "A", mainly because of how it is so different from everything else in the area. From a distance, it'll be great. The final test, however, will be how it blends into the entertainment district, and its steet level vitality. How we feel about as we are on the street next to it is as important as its overall design as seen from a distance.
Are you sure we're talking about the same God here, because yours sounds kind of like a dick.

I give it an A because of the different design and how they say they've planned ground level retail in it even though it's the company headquarters.

I wish it was a bit taller but I can deal with 18 stories....nice height.

I'm giving it an A because it's unique and different and because the placement of it looks like it will fill a noticable gap in the middle of the skyline (when viewed from noth or south). The only reason I didn't give it an A+ is that when I look at it I think of underarm odor protection rather than taxes. :P

I gave it a B. I like the design, love that from the south we'll see the 'skinny' side, love the street level retail, restaurants, underground parking and the fact that a lot of it will be open to the public. However, give me freakin' 25-30 stories (at least)! I hate to say it, really, but as I mentioned in another post, isn't H&R Block a large company on a national scale? Don't they want their building to be a powerful status symbol for the corporation as well as downtown KC? It's an awesome design, but I still want more height, if only for the bragging rights and fact that the loop skyline could still use a little more beef, especially seeing as how nothing notable has gone up for some time....this is a prime opportunity, for H&R and the city.

P.S. Also it needs a giant 2-3 story glowing green cube on top!

I gave it a B - mainly because it's not tall enough for me. But I like that it's a new shape for KC. Downtown needs something rounder. I also thought it looked like deoderant!

Also, how will it look from the Liberty Memorial? Like a little sliver?

You know...I gave it a B the first time around. Now that there are images showing what it will look like from ground level, I'll change my vote to an A. Now, all we need to see are renderings of the city from several miles away to see how it fits into the entire KC skyline.

Attempt 2...very tough from this angle since we don't have a rendering of the "skinny" side...so I tried to freshen up Hotel President and added an arena

On Fox 4 tonight, they showed the model for the Block HQ and it appears the entire building is now green and almost glowy looking (i.e. the portion with the big block is the color and design of the entire building).

I saw that....that would be cool if it would glow all green at night.

PHOTOSHOP WIZARD.

BUILDING FALLS OVER.

I give the photoshopping a C-, and the building design an A for being distinct.

The development around the tower looked especially promising. It looked a little like a modern, more edgy version of Valencia Place.
