The Business Journal reports that Blue KC (Blue Cross, Blue Shield) has put their headquarters building and adjacent land up for sale.
Blue KC lists longtime HQ property for sale to new office users, developers
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City officially has put its current headquarters property up for sale, making available a sizable site long viewed as a top candidate for creative redevelopment in the Crown Center area.
Blue KC recently listed its headquarters east of Union Station at 2301 Main St. through Colliers International's Kansas City office. The 6.14-acre site includes the company's 201,493-square-foot office building, One Pershing Square, plus close to 5 acres of surrounding surface parking it acquired last year for "more flexibility" in considering its future real estate options. A listing price was not disclosed.

Residential facing Washington Square Park would be great.
It would be good if they could utilize the existing building though. That's an 8 story building so it would be unlikely that residential would reach that height if built anew.
This is so valuable being right on the streetcar line next to so many attractions.
In a perfect world this would become the future home of Sporting KC.
Right on the streetcar and room to go up for some offices and residential.
