we love that show. it probably is the most realistic depiction of actual midwesterners/kansans on television.

Ditto! Love that she wears Lawrence t-shirts,etc. from her previous escape to Lawrence. Sidekick character steals the show.

There are (sort of) 2 couples. One is a SKC couple living in the suburbs. Shows some nice scenes of the city. The other couple is a woman from Salina ks but shows several scenes from the airport and she stays in the Crossroads Hotel. Neither couple is interesting IMO.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
I’ve been wondering if the show made a deliberate effort to showcase middle America couple this time, because it’s Austin, KC, Rapid City & Salina. Only one couple in NJ on coast.Karambit25 wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 12:04 pmThere are (sort of) 2 couples. One is a SKC couple living in the suburbs. Shows some nice scenes of the city. I only know about it because of the KC Star. Another potential is that the show picked locations likely to be open during COVID.AlkaliAxel wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 12:34 pmI’ve been wondering if the show made a deliberate effort to showcase middle America couple this time, because it’s Austin, KC, Rapid City & Salina. ^Directed by Codie Critcheloe who started the SSION Drag King thing out of his KC Art Institute days in the 2000s. He produced a lot of videos out of Xroads and continued through 2010s, directing for others.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
This look great. Looking at the trailer trying to identify locations looks to be the underpass on 17th street heading up to Summit. Anyone else know any of the shot locations? Will have to search for a copy on the intertube.FangKC wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:32 pm New Short Film ‘West Bottoms’ Puts KC on the Map for Cinematography

Looks well photographed! I really think if Missouri would give tax credits you would see a lot more Hollywood pictures filmed in KC, it has a very diverse array of locations that would work for a number of stories.FangKC wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:32 pm New Short Film ‘West Bottoms’ Puts KC on the Map for Cinematography

Man, I hate that Youtube channel so much. Along with the very similar channel called "World According to Briggs." Both have a really similar tone and format and engage in disgusting exercises in poverty porn, otherizing of poverty, and display a lack of empathy or deep analysis. Comment sections of the vids are always filled with people who are afraid of cities and never saw one they didn't hate.
