Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
excited to see this, the new soccer stadium, casino redevelopment, and the street car coming down that way and improving the access that comes with it. We will have a really nice swath of development fill in the land from East to West, plus it will be highly visible development that will serve as a nice "welcome mat" for downtown.
Hoep this continues to spur development from the East end of Riverfront, South up into those Neighborhoods of Columbus Park, etc. Going to be awesome to see All these areas link together in and along the river, finally.

Could it be that the Lux Living proposal has been submitted for review and shows up on Compass now?

Guess it wasn’t anything too important to not be mentioned in the media or the original post was posted mistakenly in this thread.

stadium for ants. How are people supposed to watch soccer if they can't even fit in the building?

Having seen small village/town stadiums in Ireland & England, it looks perfect. A great addition to Berkley Park!

Out of everything in that article, remove the Ixia thing and tax abatement debate at the end of the article. You're left with management criticisms and those are things I'm involved with reshaping. I can assure you that with Kansas City, management is going to be much different. I won't dive into what these changes will be exactly, but let's just say that the past was learned from.
FYI: I don't associate my name with people and things that I don't think could be fixed. Every single-issue Lux has can be fixed with relative ease especially since this is a new market. You watch. You'll see.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Legally seems like a nothingburger to me. Sure may be some issues in the past, but they answered the question truthfully as posted, plus it was not directly related to the proposal. It's a fair criticsm to write a story on but shouldn't impact this project. Plus kind of unfair to highlight all of those unrelated projects to build up some kind of negative track record just because a few people wern't happy with their other (again, unrelated projects), they offered a very one-sided critique borderline last second hit job.
Also, I don't understand how the city's created affordable housing requirements are not good enough. Same issue with Mac on Armor. Take your criticisms up with the city. To be honest, the city's rates should probalby go up based on inflation and material costs.

Rooting for you Chris. Hope this doesn’t affect what seems like a great project for KC’s riverfront. Sounds like you have this handled.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 4:28 pm Out of everything in that article, remove the Ixia thing and tax abatement debate at the end of the article. Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Very interesting. Is this a new era of "shopping" the statutory agencies for tax abatement? Now the Port Authority and KCATA are tax abatement-friendly and the PIEA is anti-development?
