Re: Politics
No one's holding a gun to your head and making you read the comments, right? It must be sheer hell to have to read line after line of virtue signaling!
While I realize that these people hold so much power on...Instagram and TikTok, just think how scary it would be if one of them became President of the United States!

Re: Politics
I got rid of Facebook sometime ago being that it’s a cesspool of misinformation. While Trump may go down as a historically bad potus, at least at minimum the man has actually had personal experience in various aspects of life. Most of the time, these woke white women haven’t ever had a personal conversation with a black person and despite changing their profile pictures away from their favorite cat picture to “I support BLM”, don’t do anything of true substance to support the cause. They’re also the first to call the cops in a park because a black man scares them.swid wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:43 pm No one's holding a gun to your head and making you read the comments, right? Why are you concerned about liberals being concerned about black people, even if some of it is posturing, when the trump is trying a coup. Seriously get your priorities straight

Re: Politics
Who said I wasn’t worried about what’s currently happening with the Republican Party and Trump being epically bad losers. That makes two elections in a row where the losing side can’t accept defeat with any form of class.
It’s not all liberals I’m worried about, it’s the fake ones who are only liberal on their social media accounts. In particular woke white women who have literally hijacked a movement. Or the ones who only get behind it because it’s trendy to do so. Perhaps I’m more sensitive on the topic due to some family members who have gone off the deep woke end.
All our “priorities” are different.

Re: Politics
I'm not convinced that Kelly/Kobach and Bollier/Marshall are necessarily comparable races, given that they were for different offices and occurred in different election cycles. Kansas hasn't elected a Democratic senator since 1932 (and has only elected three Democratic senators ever) but has regularly switched parties in the governor's office, electing a Dem most recently in 2006.grovester wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:02 pmNo, like how Kelly beats Kobach but Bollier doesn't beat Marshall.phuqueue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:01 amKinda like in 2016, when fevered speculation about action on the convention floor to block Trump's nomination and calls from other Republicans for him to drop out as late as the Access Hollywood tape in October gave way to 92% support for Trump among Republican voters and, of course, a Trump presidency?
It seems like, instead of offering substantive policies to make this country a little bit less awful, Democrats just keep waiting for things that are outside of their control to gift them power. Eight years ago we were hearing all about how demographics were going to permanently bury the Republican party. Now it's that they're helpfully just going to self-immolate. When that prediction fails to vanquish them, what are we going to hope for next? I think the "fractures" in the GOP are vastly overstated anyway. The main point of disagreement among them seems to be whether to keep saying the quiet part out loud after Trump goes away.
Then Marshall shows his ass, keeps pushing right.
You are correct about the "out loud" part. Trump will make them say it out loud and it will cost them.

Re: Politics
The idea is most politicians have experience in politics, politics and politics. Look at Hawley working his way up the political ladder and doing nothing else.
Trump came out of the business background. The idea is that's supposed to make him different.
Perot was much the same idea as a candidate but he formed a party and didn't take over one that existed.

True. Kansans apparently look for some balance in their politics.phuqueue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:14 pmI'm not convinced that Kelly/Kobach and Bollier/Marshall are necessarily comparable races, given that they were for different offices and occurred in different election cycles. I think voters were looking for balance nationally this time as well.
All this coverage of socialism, defunding the police and protests got people nervous when they really want NORMAL, so they vote a split ticket.
No mistake, the Dems have issues to grapple with, but I don't think the sky is falling.

Re: Politics
That at minimum, Trump has personal interactions, good and bad with POC where as many of the woke white women haven’t done anything besides listen to other white woke celebrities talk about racial injustices, let alone go out in the world and do something about it. It’s like this cult of cat loving women who think parading around with pussy hats and telling any man who engages politely in a debate with them they’re mansplaining. It’s like the people who say we can’t say “man up” anymore because it implies only men are can be tough. Most of them have no real world experience or interactions, they’re just as bad as Karens.phuqueue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:14 pmI'm not convinced that Kelly/Kobach and Bollier/Marshall are necessarily comparable races, given that they were for different offices and occurred in different election cycles. Uh, approximately what percentage of these "woke white women" are right wing trolls? I just assume all the woker-than-thou bullshit is fake until proven otherwise.
Also, I love cats. And Katz. And Katz's.

Re: Politics
Well, the ones I used to see in the comments sections were deep into it but suppose a small percentage could be trolls. Trolls, in my experience on FB are easy to spot after a quick visit to their profile.
The ones I know in person, like my sisters for example are for sure not right wing anything! They were fine and solid liberals who voted for Obama but now it’s nearly impossible to discuss anything with them without them going off on the woke train. For example, flat out calling anyone in my family racists if they voted for Trump when they know that’s just not true.

And your liberal idiocy has your panties in such a wad you can’t help but think anyone who doesn’t attend Trump hating circle jerks is a Trump lover.
I didn’t vote for Trump this round there you dumpster fire. I don’t have any comebacks and you also must live with nothing but your cats because dogs actually require some effort.

I’d also say the hard core trumpers are worse than the woke white women. Cause much more lasting damage as well.

I’m not sure what you think of me, seems like a strange fantasy. Also what’s with the obsession with cats, did you hate the musical?
I’m glad you didn’t vote for trump, I don’t get why you keep defending him though.
No one is requiring you to denounce him, just don’t be surprised when people are less than impressed when you are standing up for someone who is behaving like a narcissist who has lost their tether to the ground.
Appreciate your insights on everuthing else though, hopefully you make peace with your sister and the woke white woman boogeyman residing over your dreams

I feel the same way about what people think of me in this thread. Its easy to jump to conclusions and I’m very guilty of doing it myself. I didn’t think I was defending Trump this go round but I do know that my choice to pick and choose what I do and don’t defend about him tosses me too often into a generalized “Trump lover” which is just hilariously inaccurate.Riverite wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 6:58 pm I’m not sure what you think of me, seems like a strange fantasy. I will NOT defend Trump and the republicans with how they’ve handled clearly and fairly losing this election. It’s an embarrassment just like it was 4 years ago. If I hear one more conversation about, “just wait, Trumps got a bomb shell he’s going to drop and Biden won’t be President” I’m going to lose my mind.
My sisters and I are fine. I’ve never let politics influence if I like someone or not overall. I’m confident if we all knew each other personally, we’d almost all get along just fine. Except Phuqueue, that guys just a dick! (Very heavy sarcasm, I respect his thoughtful input honestly)

Re: Politics
Everything Trump touches dies or something. GOP went from having presidency, Senate, and House. Now they are 0/3.
Maybe we'll finally get an infrastructure week.
