It also has a long, and I think endearing, history of being a little bitchy, and fairly thick skinned. The pearl-clutching, and oh, dear, what ever would your EMPLOYER! think of you saying “dick” on the internet threatening seems pretty out of character for the board writ large.KCPowercat wrote:this site has a LOOOONNNGG history of hosting some very plugged in people....glad you are joining us now.

Yea you did miss it. DaveKCMO turns out to be Dave Johnson. It was a big surprise for most of us here.KCPowercat wrote:I was kind of wondering this as well but I figured my asking would lead to re-doxingWSPanic wrote:Did I miss a recent doxing drama?mean wrote:This is getting a bit dangerously close to doxing, and we've already had enough of that kind of drama around here lately.

That said, I would be pretty astounded if there were corporate executives around here caring about what internet plebs think.
I see now why I’m the only person who actually works for a developer willing to come on here.

Hah. For the record someone pasted some stuff that had some PII in it and then someone else apparently used that to dig up someone's Facebook. I deleted all of it.ldai_phs wrote:Yea you did miss it. For the record, I enjoy ST. Just for an anonymous guy, he's pretty exposed. If he's cool with it, I'm cool with it.chingon wrote:It also has a long, and I think endearing, history of being a little bitchy, and fairly thick skinned. I think we all enjoy the drama of this site.
I think most of us are also known by at least a few people here, even if we don't all openly share our names.

That individual gave away who they were long before that post but it was subtle.mean wrote:

Me, I've used this same screen name for 25 years. I don't try to hide who I am if someone cares to figure it out.

Re: Six Light
I’m neither plugged in or an important figure in KC and I probably live a drastically different lifestyle than most of you. I can’t even be doxed meaningfully. My lack of importance can make this forum super depressing for me sometimes. I’m not even sure why I’m interested in this stuff especially since it’s essentially a guilty pleasure I have to hide from all the “anti-capitalist” hipster punks in my life. I just came here one day to rant about an ill advised idea for better buses, got schooled and now I can’t stop posting and reading. It’s a weird obsession to see what’s popping up next, like watching a sim city develop in real time (I played Sim City 3 and 4 all the time as a kid so maybe that’s why).
I’ve only met one of you in real life. They came to a show I put on which was pretty cool. And obviously I follow Dave on social media because he’s omnipresent when it comes to urbanism in KC. Besides that I enjoy the anonymity of this board. It allows me to apply an avatar of my mind’s own creation to each of you based on your personalities. The internet is a different world.
I’m not sure what point I’m making here. I guess I’m just glad there’s a Cordish rep on here to heap praise and fling frustrations at. Someone like me would never get that opportunity in the real world.

I dig this post and appreciate your contributions here, JB! And agree totally on the Sim City angle now that you mention it. I remember doing a Critical Mass ride through the abandoned heart of downtown 12+ years ago and it's been strangely and amazingly gratifying to watch the city rebound since.I’m neither plugged in or an important figure in KC and I probably live a drastically different lifestyle than most of you. I wish I still had the abandon- and blight-porn photos I took downtown in the late 1990s so I could go take "after" shots.

If im2kull is in fact the man himself, I demand he take and post a selfie holding up his username as evidence.
