Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
I noticed the signs this morning as well. Also the exist gates were closed, where they had always been open Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday previously due to free parking on those days. In addition there are now closed garage doors within the garage, I presume that's to block access to reserved One Light parking spaces.
This is the lot that Alamo Drafthouse had always advertised as the lot to park in for free validation. Any word if they have a new official lot?

They've always had access to the H&R Block garage in the evening hours, but their fallback/matinee garage is the KC Live one now.

protip: there are new-ish unmetered on-street spots on the two blocks of truman road north nearest the alamo. they are rarely used.swid wrote:They've always had access to the H&R Block garage in the evening hours, but their fallback/matinee garage is the KC Live one now.

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
those are my go to spots. Some are (were?) taxi stand reserved certain evening hours though.
More on the Cosentino's garage...they don't need to validate the garage ticket if you are in there less than 30 minutes. They just recently started asking how long you've been there and if you're leaving right away. Seems to correspond with the new signs and One Light coming online.

The integration of every car entering this garage has to stop. It's backing up traffic for no reason. Close Main Street entrance if they have to do that....and keep all lanes of traffic open on the Walnut side. Constantly one entrance and one exit closed.

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
It's pretty terrible. Since they have to ask everyone and only feel like having one person stand at each entrance, they limit it to one lane of entry which turns the Walnut side into a standstill. I'm not even sure what they are trying to accomplish as they have no way to confirm why you are actually parking there.

Regardless — an eatery that will be open on the weekends, and for breakfast nonetheless is needed downtown. The yoga studio will bring another livable component that all neighborhoods need to have to thrive.
Jane Jacobs talks about how city centers need to have businesses that are open throughout different parts of the day to create a successful neighborhood. These two additional will do just that!

There is a yoga studio two blocks south across from Tannin and at least 8 of them throughout downtown?...just saying, it's not much of a neighborhood add.smh wrote:I mean, I'm not too into the yoga studio, but I know several people are pretty excited about it.KCPowercat wrote:Hopefully better news then a yoga studio
