Yes, but...it's better than "E-Bro", which I have now heard in use not as a joke.

Re: beer.
BLVD just unveiled the the new Royals packaging for KC Pils - pretty slick.

However! Remember when KC Pils was the "affordable" throwback BLVD beer designed to go head to head with Bud, etc. And I used to buy it and enjoy it at that price point. Loved the concept.
Haven't touched it since they moved it to their standard pricing. Kind of hope they've heard some pushback since doing so but doubtful.

Re: beer.
Does Westport need yet another beerhaus? Hellyeah, why not even if a semi-chain. The location will change with the times anyway.
Outside missed opportunity to have a grand corner entrance for such a prime corner, also think they did a good job with building.

Re: beer.
Checked out the Crane Brewing Co. tap room in Raytown on Saturday.
Was already familiar with their beers, which didn't disappoint - I think they're doing some of the best and most interesting craft beer in the city, but then I love sours.
The brewery is located just off 63rd street in downtown Raytown, near Fox Drugs etc. Very industrial spot, nearly under a bridge - reminded me a lot of the old Strouds location, or BBs BBQ in it's industrial/rural/urban vibe, complete with gravel parking lot. Interior is attractive and hosted a nice early evening crowd. Large glass garage doors for the spring/summer.
Bonus points for the wooden barrel shard flight boards that held the 4oz glasses, and the fact that draft beer to go comes in a "crowler" - 32oz aluminum can press sealed at the bar. Mine left full of Orange Gose and didn't make it through the night.
Wish they had opened in the RCP somewhere considering the quality of product and branding (instead of, say, lackluster Double Shift or Border Brewing), but happy to see them thriving in Raytown - nice little off-the-beaten path spot.

Re: beer.
In case the "Railroad Street" address didn't give it away: if they ever get the Rock Island trail finished, it'll go in directly across from Crane.

Re: beer.
I'll have to give Double Shift and Border another shot. I tried them both when they first opened and thought the beer was at best average, and space/branding was disappointingly generic/low rent. Double Shift especially is in such a great location I was frustrated. I owe them another try and an open mind.
I would love to see Torn Label in a higher profile location with more visibility, and space. Hopefully someday.
