The property on 27th is still Longfellow, not sure why it says that it's north.UC-B has been building 1,400-square-foot homes priced from $265,000 to $315,000 near 27th and Charlotte streets in the Longfellow neighborhood. The firm bought six infill lots there and built and sold its first two Longfellow homes last year. Two more homes are under contract, and the last two are out of the ground.
In addition, UC-B has bought property on the north side of 27th Street, just north of Longfellow, for the development of five or six 1,200-square-foot townhomes to sell.

Re: Longfellow development
The roof is on, most of the windows are in, still waiting on siding.
I saw today that they're listed at $298,500 for 2 bed/3 bath and $315,000 for 3 bed/3 bath, both around 1,400 square feet.

Townhomes at 27th & Campbell are done. Last I heard, two were under contract.

Re: Longfellow development
I went to the Antler Room last weekend. The food was phenomenal. It did end up being a fairly expensive outing, but I would say the prices are in line with the quality. Also, I am getting a little tired of the small plate/tapas trend.TheBigChuckbowski wrote:The Antler Room is open in the former Chips & Dips spot. I went on Sunday evening and it was pretty busy for not being a prime time. I have heard they have been busy on others days as well. I hope they can keep it up, but for me, unless they implement some sort of happy hour or bar/lounge menu, it will be more of a special occasion place.

Re: Longfellow development
I was wondering price-point since they don't have an online menu. How expensive was it?

Re: Longfellow development
Seems like it was $12-25 for a small plate. Maybe $25-40 for an entree (though the small plates are quite small, and I assume the entrees are as well). Superb quality food, though.

Our bill was $100 for two people. We got 2 drinks, 5 plates, and 2 desserts

That's not cheap, but it is not over the top either.

I enjoyed a phenomenal dinner here this weekend. Every single thing was perfect. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that there is no taxidermy, but the interior is nicely done and simple and comfortable.

Maybe you should remedy that for them!taxi wrote:I enjoyed a phenomenal dinner here this weekend. Every single thing was perfect. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that there is no taxidermy, but the interior is nicely done and simple and comfortable.

You'd think there'd be a nice rack somewhere.

I was pleased to see that the Filling Station is now open until 9pm, rather than 6. I assume this is the result of all of the development going on in surrounding areas bringing in new residents.
I also heard that Cafe Europa should be opening up either the 14th or 21st of this month.

Along with Underdog Wine and Spirits. I'm a big fan of their spot in Waldo.

Re: Longfellow development
No way will Cafe Europa open on the 14th or probably not before Thanksgiving. The construction crew is the Three Stooges. Last week they accidently drilled into the electrical for the elevator and it was out of service half the day. They annexed half the apartment lobby for the cafe so now it looks like a rathole lobby. They constantly block the garage entrances and everyday coat the cars parked with concrete dust.
