From trying to land a restaurant to a bank instead:
Arvest Bank plans to open a new branch in downtown Kansas City, just steps away from Sprint Center and the Kansas City Power & Light District.
The northwest corner of 13th Street and Grand Boulevard is home to an eight-story, open-air parking structure. Arvest plans to build a walk-in banking facility and a drive-up ATM at the southeast corner of the building.
I would imagine if they have a drive up that would be contained inside the garage, but still....
...the 10th Street branch lacks drive-up capabilities.
This seems like a win. Granted it's just a boring bank--but it still activates the corner much better than a parking garage. I believe that make 3 of 4 corners at 13th & Grand.

It's not the bank, but the obession with drive thru's in the center of the city, but I guess they need to cater to the market until the market changes.
I don't know why, but I like seeing a new bank making more of a presence downtown. There used to be a lot of smaller banks in downtown Kansas City, and I would like to see more move back in, and grow into bigger banks.
Could this thread be merged with the one in Downtown called Make Grand Grand? I made the mistake of starting this one, since this area of DT is not technically part of the Power and Light District.
