I dont know, I am pretty happy with Joe Nelson going 8-8 on saves and a 3.99 ERA. Compared to Burgos at 18 out of 30 and an ERA of 5.77kcdcchef wrote: oh dont get me wrong, i think he will turn it around. but if you go over on the royals forum, goddamn, everyone was thinking this guy was some kind of a hybrid of quisneberry and monty. i think he will be fine.
burgos, at 12 blown saves, is still a way from reaching the club record of 18 blown saves, set by..................................dan quisenberry. i really think burgos will end up being a closer here in kansas city, maybe even next year. that guy has some SERIOUS shit, i think if they can harness it, look out.

nelson has been the best arm out of the pen by far this year. to suggest otherwise is ludacris.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of them seem to be stepping up their game. I've been pleasantly surprised by the Royals overall performance lately. For the first time in a long time I don't just automatically assume they're gonna lose before the game even starts. I'm pretty excited about the kids they got playing in Wichita also. Maybe things are finally starting to turn around.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bell is taking leave
Royals manager Buddy Bell had no choice in the end. The medical evidence left no alternative. The discovery of a growth near his left tonsil in a recent examination is forcing him to take a medical leave of absence with just 10 games remaining in the season.....
Bell is flying today to Phoenix and will undergo a follow-up examination at 5 p.m. Central time at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz. He is not expected to rejoin the club before the season ends Oct. 1 in Detroit.
Bench coach Billy Doran will serve as the interim manager.
Hope its nothing. Get well soon Buddy.

I also hope his health is fine ... that's more important than baseball any day.
I also hope (and believe) that we have seen Buddy Bell's last game with the Kansas City Royals.

Well we still have 4 games against Detroit, including todays game and it is looking like we will lose 100-101 games because of that.

We are 1-13 against Detroit this year. If it weren't for us, Detroit would not be in the playoff hunt.

10-0 after 1 inning last nite. "Fan Appreciation Nite" - just pathetic.
followed it up with 9 runs allowed in the 2nd today. Good way to leave the fans. Thanks for that 225M in tax handouts tho, suckers!

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the Simpsons are mocking our Royals.
Did anyone see the show tonight? The Simpson family paid a visit to a run down 80s style Springfield mall, went into a almost empty book store, and on the shelf was a book called "The Kansas City Royals, Forever Champions." I must admit, it made me chuckle, but it also aggravates me how far our team has fallen.
Anyway, I hope Dayton adds the Simpsons to the ESPN bouquet list referenced in Joe P's article today.

I am not very mad about it because it is a little true, and I was laughing very hard at it. But someday, it will be Kansas City Royals Forever Champions.myxomatosis wrote: Now the Simpsons are mocking our Royals.

Man, what a heartbreaker to lose for our 100th loss. 1-0 until the final out of the game. Oh well, Nelson had to give one up eventually. Until next year...
