No real surprise here. Smart investment by the teams knowing that "insecure KC voter" would roll over and pass this thing. We're major league all right, even though we are getting challenged by independent league teams!!

Finance report details funding of stadium effort
Teams bore brunt of campaign cost
By DAVE HELLING
The Kansas City Star
A new report shows that the Chiefs and the Royals bankrolled much of the successful campaign for improvements at the Truman Sports Complex.
Campaign finance disclosures show the teams contributed $1.75 million to Save Our Stadiums, the campaign committee. Each team donated $800,000 and then lent an additional $75,000 each in the campaign’s final days.

Remember this when the Royals and first pick Andrew Miller can't come to agreement because the Royals won't pay him an extra $800,000.Each team donated $800,000

If I had $800,000, I'd happily pay it to ensure securing a billion dollars.

That's some funny shit! No pun intended.chingon wrote: if i had 800,000 dollars i would shit on lamar hunt's head and use the money to pay my lawyer.
One time, my friend was working at a Wizards game. He was in the offices, and he walked down the hallway to catch the elevator. Lamar Kunt was standing there in the elevator. My friend said, "Can you hold the door?", but Ol Lamar just stared blankly at him and let the door slowly close.
What a prick.

You shouldn't have been kidding. They did win.AllThingsKC wrote: Well, they could sweep the Indians and be 10-22. So, there! (Kidding)
I may be right. I may be wrong. But there is a lot of gray area in-between.
