Webcams to waste your day
Here you go....something to waste your entire day at work. kcmo.org has put up 2 webcams pointing at the entertainment district and arena sites....only problem with the entertainment district one is you can't see H&R block building construction.
I've emailed them asking permission to direct link the 2 images on this site...until then, here is links to the 2 cameras.

Does anyone else get prompted for a userid and password for the streaming cams?

very very cool.
I'll be interested to see how they finish digging out that garage once they have to dig out the ramp.

Here's a "webcam" shot of the CIMO webcams.
The one on the right is the one that points to the arena site. The entertaintment district webcam is probably what the red arrow in the left is pointing at, but it might also be about "an inch" to the right of that under those curved pipes. That one is harder for me to make out since from my angle I'm looking more directly into it.

don't have time to watch the webcam all day? Want to see how the site progressed? Well your prayers have been answered.
http://www.kcskyscrapers.com/PLDistrict/anim.html
I found a program that goes out and takes an image at a set time period and then makes a simple javascript application.
Don't expect one of these everyday but if I get time, I'll upload a new one at the end of the work day so you can see what happened that day. This is set at every 5 minutes. Only thing it's missing is a timestamp in the image.
I also have one setup to go daily and by the end of the construction, hope to put a big animation together. Enjoy.
For example, in today's animation, you can watch them drain out the water basins in the 13th & walnut block site....which would indicate to me construction soon on this block.

My first day of spring break and I'm pretty sick! I've been watching the webcam a lot today and I thought they weren't going to drain the basin until H&R block was half finished. Could they just be draining them to have them fill up again?

Nah, just building big dams with a tractor and then destroying them. Watching webcams all day is my current job.KansasCityCraka wrote:What watch the webcam all day? and I'm 17, nice tryGladstoner wrote:Oh, that would have been my dream job when I was about 8.KansasCityCraka wrote:I thought they weren't going to drain the basin until H&R block was half finished. They may be draining them to keep them from becoming a biohazard. . . I walked by there around sunset last night, and those ponds were glowing green just as bright as they do at high noon.
