I wonder how expensive this would be?

Re: P&L Building
To coordinate LED lights with events? Nothing but planning. The lighting hardware itself can't be that much anymore....of course nothing will be done with the building until it's renovated.

Re: P&L Building
I think this, or even just being lit well in white lights would be awesome. Sadly it has been so dark for years. One of the best outcomes if it becomes the hotel is that it can become a beacon/landmark in the night skyline again!

Re: P&L Building
You can bet if Ron Jury gets to renovate the P&L building into a hotel, those floodlights will be back on at some point after it's finished.
There is no fifth destination.

Building put op for sale. Seems like the DT market has a lot of large properties on the market right now. That must be a sign of something?

It's an opportunity for the right development company with deep pockets.

Makes me wonder where things stand with the convention hotel proposal that incorporated the P&L Building.

Re: P&L Building
Until someone comes up with a viable way to finance it, nothing is happening.

Re: P&L Building
Just as an aside, the article mentioned the sale of the building includes the entire block...except the portion occupied by the crown hotel. So this really is a potential huge deal for whoever gets it. There are two large vacant lots on either side of this building for a parking garage and additional building. I hope Sherman and Assoc are still interested in purchasing and turning it into apts with an adjacent hotel or lofts...

These appear to be about 10 years old. http://www.dnr.mo.gov/shpo/nps-nr/88001852.pdfbeautyfromashes wrote:Does anyone have any pictures from the inside?

Re: P&L Building
I posted some a couple years ago when I snuck around during the Urban Tour. It's in some serious need of refresh. I'll see what thread they might be in (if they're even still linked somewhere)

Re: P&L Building
Found it.
Ahh, the days snooping around buildings, intently listening for the errant security guard. Memories.......
I'm sure it doesn't look any different these days.

Re: P&L Building
The interior features of that auditorium looked neat (show in Star link above).
That auditorium was also much larger than I assumed it would be. That would be useful to any convention hotel as a meeting room/theater space for speakers.
