Demolitions...

With the Carlton and Carraige house apartments to be demolished and the Hotel President and Empire Hotel possibly to be demolished, what does this mean for downtown? Any renderings of what will go in their places? Why arent they preserving them?

I thought I read on this board here someplace that the owner of the President said he'd landed Hilton as a supporter.

if the carlton and carraige house apartments are demolished how tall will the office buildings be?? they'd have to be 11 floors at least...
anyone know whos developing it?
