I think it's fine. A little more up to date at least.

It's whatever but does look like it was thrown together by the engineering firm, not a marketing firm.

The new logo is unremarkably banal just like the architecture of the airport. It's perfect.

I honestly can’t think of a single one outside of Sacramento airports logo, and that’s just because it’s a big ‘S’ with a plane swooping throughnormalthings wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:11 pmLook at other peer airport logos and then get back to us.MidtownCat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 4:47 pm The new logo is unremarkably banal just like the architecture of the airport. Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I get it - it's an airport logo. But if it has to be explained to people (and most of us on here are probably more in tune with the airport design than the general public) then it's probably missing the mark. It's going to be an amazing airport IMO but to assume the exterior of the main terminal is iconic is a bit of a stretch given it's the same as many other airports.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Iconic? I'm as excited about the new terminal as anybody, but the new terminal is a box with a flat roof that partly overhangs the curb. Far from Iconic lol.
The new terminal is basically just bringing KC's airport up to basic standards. It's still a relatively bare bones terminal that seems very "budget" to me, but 1000 times better than the old setup.
And the logo is stupid, but fine I guess. Because nobody will have any idea what that logo represents. It's not something that matters though.

It is the iconic part of the design. Nobody is claiming it's the Sydney opera house. Jfc people

This presentation was used at the Bergen conference when the air service team was pitching to BA.

Also within the presentation are full gate assignments. Jetblue and Air Canada haven't been assigned gates yet apparently. Top European markets to/from KC are featured as well.

Air Canada will almost certainly share one of the United gates (as they do currently).
JetBlue will *probably* start out in A8, but if/when their acquisition of Spirit goes through, they could wind up in B as well.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Just curious as to how the new terminal will be set up for customs? KC currently has some international flights so there has to be some area for customs planned.trexel94 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 12:20 pm This presentation was used at the Bergen conference when the air service team was pitching to BA.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
There will be a customs/immigration facility with an internationally configured baggage claim. The terminal will also have a separate check-in for passengers with connecting flights. Passengers will disembark from south concourse A, walk down a hallway and towards an escalator where border control is located.Highlander wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 12:52 pmJust curious as to how the new terminal will be set up for customs? Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Yup it will be like every other normal terminal out there. Flex gates to direct international arrivals to customs area when needed.Highlander wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 12:52 pmJust curious as to how the new terminal will be set up for customs?
