I'm not completely familiar with all the neighborhoods discussed on here, and I would like to be. Could there be a map section that shows different neighborhoods commonly discussed on here? Maybe even accompanied by a photos section. If you want people to come downtown, we have to familiarize ourselves with it.
And if there already is such a section, please let me know. Thanks.

great idea. Ignat. has a good map with neighborhoods labeled, maybe he can post it here or I'll go search for it.

Here's a pretty good map of the Downtown neighborhoods
(Downtown Council, http://downtownkc.org/life_dtkcmap.html)
The Convention and Visitors Bureau has an interactive Flash map here: http://maps.mapnetwork.com/kansascity/g ... ?scale=1.4

We've talked about this before. It is a good idea. I once found a neighborhood map of urban STL that was clickable. Upon clicking, one was directed to a website for that neighborhood with pictures and info. Cool idea for reference or for a "virtual tour" of the city that actually incorporates a spatial sense.

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but that map, while its a good one, needs the interstates on it.

Here is Ig's map....it's more of just downtown, we don't have a good one of neighborhoods like Valentine, Plaza, brookside, etc.

Excellent. That's exactly what I was looking for KC Powercat. Thanks.
It would be cool if there were maps for each individual neighborhood with links to pictures maybe. Just a thought for anyone with the time and/or inclination.

I'd be happy to build something like that if those of you who are photographers don't mind me using your photos (since I don't have time to go take fresh photos of every neighborhood). I could watermark a photo credit onto the ones I use to indicate who took them.

A couple others. Feel free to use as you'd like. It's open source.

kcmo.org has some pretty good maps of kc neighborhoods but no photos.
Suburban Sprawl - Cut down all of the trees and name the streets after them.
