Two barber shops now in RM, one on Walnut as well. What lacking neighborhood amenities do RM'rs want to see?

Cafe Al dente closes on Saturday...says the new landlord won't renew their lease.

Yes!!!! they are both prime real estate. Something good and popular on al dentes corner could completely revolutionize that corner. Also heard that there won't be ice cream in the old streetcar

What I heard is that they are still fixing it up, but don't have a tenant. I'm not really sure what is going on its just what I heard

The supposed ice cream vendor that was going in the "antique" streetcar was never real. Supposedly was just a conversation the developer had and he liked the sound of it so.... It will look nice once they fix it up I hope. I want to love the idea, but at the moment I'm skeptical. And yes they are working on that old streetcar. It's pretty ugly right now, but they are at least working on it.

Also heard (count this as rumor for now) that Farmhouse might shrink into half of its current space.

I am willing to open an ice cream business in there. We will serve many exotic flavors with names like... DeJanes Right of Way Sorbet, Sherry Mush, Burke Chop Suey, Tutti Fruity Clay Chastuty, Lawuit Swirl, Touristy Frou-frou, Sinquefield Fudge, Nutter Brickle, El Bryan Dingleberry, and Petition Mint. Or you can get a big mixed dip, called Anti Everything.

I am working on a project about The City Market and other downtown neighborhoods for school. How would you describe the City Market/River Market Area during the years 2000-2005?
