Crap, I thought this chick would have left town after breaking up with Murray. She had a Pitch Q&A article about a year ago and it was the most horrible Q&A ever done, talk about dumb airhead.

Things have been rather quiet here this season. Afterall the Royals have the best record in the AL and second best in the MLB after the Cards (another I-70 Series in the works?). Where are the calls for Glass to fire Yost and/or Moore? Get rid of this player or that player. Trade for so-and-so.

I'm confused. We just won the ALCS and are in first place. Why would anyone want the GM and coach fired right now?
We could still use some starting pitching - and maybe a bat in RF or 2B.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thread has been going since 2006. For the first time since then, the Royals made it to game 7 of the World Series and are now leading the AL. I think the posters here are still in shock.

Man, I remember having a big post in this thread celebrating that the Royals would "only" lose 99 games or less.
KC is the way to be!

I really hate to see Gordon go down for 8 weeks. His bat was finally coming around. While it's been a good year for the Royals, I can't remember so many injuries in a single season - and it's only July. It's a wonder they are 5 games up in first.

There was an excellent article in SI a while back showing how, in retrospect, KC had done a fantastic job in the offseason of filling holes and building depth. It's paying off now. Dyson has stepped up this time.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonder if Yost decided to not pitch Chris Sale because of that fight a few months ago. Chris Sale is probably the best pitcher in the AL this year and probably should have started the game.

I think his coach petitioned for him not to pitch.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chicago manager Robin Ventura said he wanted to be able to use him the rest of the season. That seems a totally ridiculous request from a last place White Sox team 11 games out of 1st. Everyone wants to play their players the rest of the season. Rest Sale the last month of the season when they are already out of the race.grovester wrote:I think his coach petitioned for him not to pitch.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never hurts to ask. He's also not the best pitcher in the AL.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11 games is not insurmountable. See the 2013 Dodgers and 2011 Cardinals. They are only 5.5 out of the wild card, so they just need to be the team that catches fire. The AL Wild Card race is going to be fantastic this year.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, but it just seems slimy to ask. Every team is basically in the hunt in the AL. Why should they get to hold out their pitcher? I wish Nolan Ryan was available for another Ventura beat down.
