If you HAD to move to the Kansas side, where? (POLL)
If you HAD to move to the Kansas side, where would you move? I am just curious where the raggers would gravitate if there was no other option. Be as specific as possible if you have a specific node, neighborhood or subdivision in mind.
EDIT: I CREATED A POLL! Start populating!

Yea! I am hoping to gauge the ragger view of the KS neighborhoods with some small bit of redeeming quality.mean wrote:Honestly?

Westwood, Roeland Park, Mission, Fairway, Prairie Village north of 75th
basically the parts that blend into Waldo and Brookside in feel and are NE of the northern reaches of Overland Park

Probably Westwood, Strawberry Hill, or Rosedale. Nothing too far south.

Mission Hills or way south in a McMansion. If you're selling your soul, sell high.

We live in Prairie Village.. I don't think we would live anywhere else in KS. Well, Lawrence, but that's too far away.

PV
North Leawood
Spring Valley/Rosedale
Mission Hills (if I win the Lottery)
Basically, the closest to KCMO I can get. I like Strawberry Hill/downtown KCK neighborhoods, but they seem further from KCMO downtown. That could be perception vs. reality.

In my heart - Strawberry Hill or Westheight, KCK. Would love to see Strawberry/Russian Hill make a major comeback, or pick up one of the amazing Louis Curtiss homes in Westheight.
More realistically - Westwood, near Woodside. Or Prairie Village/Fairway. PV as close to the shops as possible.
Certainly Mission Hills if cost no object.

You seriously think PV and North Leawood are closer to downtown?

From downtown, Prairie Village time-wise is as close as the Legends is in travel time. The Interstate is that much faster
Distance-wise it's about as far as 635 and I-70 in KCK
Leawood at 89th is in a weird location to get downtown. Right now google maps shows following Ward Parkway to downtown at 22 minutes and following 95th east to 71 and taking that the whole way in at 25 minutes. That says a lot right there.

Hanover Heights, on State Line just south of KU Med, is a great little neighborhood. Westwood is very nice and sneaky close to the Plaza.

FTW. When I moved here from the bay area, I lived on 9 acres at 65th and county line. Thought it was fantastic to be able to ride a tractor on the property, but be able to be in westport in 15 minutes.chingon wrote:Rural Wyandotte County, up in the bluffs along either river.

I love the area up by Sauer Castle. Not sure what it's called. It's a little hillbilly, but eclectic, too.

Yeah, that whole area north and west of SW Blvd is a real mystery with fantastic views.
