Ok, danger, you've gotta explain the addiction! I grew up in Gladstone and never ate there (although I remember stopping at the old one on N Oak with my dad and brother). My brother makes a pilgrimage to the place every year when he visits from Mpls. He always goes when I'm at work, but one of these visits I'll have to trek along with him and find out what the big deal is.

That was my perception when I was around five years old and why I abstained for the rest of my tenure up north (which, I have to disagree, has nothing to do with anything that could be remotely considered "God's country.").nota wrote:In-a-Tub is just the nastiest stuff you can ever imagine eating.
EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I was a really picky eater as a kid, so I have to give people the benefit of the doubt about it until I revisit it.

It's a less-fancy version of Texas Tom's. The food has no culinary or nutritional value, and the place lacks any decoration at all. The food is so nasty it's delicious. The North Oak spot has a diverse clientale, from Cerner programmers and execs to construction workers. There's also one on Praire View off of I-29, and a new one coming to Smithville.

Insert anything gross in place of "food" in that sentence and hear how sick that sounds.dangerboy wrote:The food is so nasty it's delicious.
Never been to Texas Tom's, but sounds like I can pass that one up, too.
