February is with the streetcar shut down most of the day for the parade too, makes it even more impressive.

One year, but that doesn't explain the annual drop.

Might have just happen to be decline of events each year that month.

But is interesting that the streetcar ridership numbers seems to correlate with downtown health. A sort of downtown health barometer.

September first Friday counts
2016 - 12,685
2017 - 11,0330
2018 - 5,741
2019 - 9,203

I don't think it is first Friday being off in 2019.

We're talking about the transit is optional crowd for sure.

It's the walk further vs pay more question. It's very weather driven.

If you're going to The Midland and the weather is nice you might look for a good parking deal that's not $20 per car and use the train.
But if there's a heat wave or thunderstorms you might try to park closer.

If a key parking company lowered their prices more people may choose to park closer. The equation changed.

I just saw that the streetcar is limiting riders to 50 per vehicle.

Does that mean 50 per section, or 50 per the whole thing? And what is the normal capacity? (Just curious.)

And how are they enforcing the limit?

It's not going to be 50 per section given there's two sections

The official capacity is 150.

With bus route frequency being reduced and all buses free should we be putting the streetcar in the barn till the stay at home order is lifted?

You really don’t want to shut down a rail system. Cincinnati tried to shut theirs down and it cost them more so they’re running minimal service with the doors closed (for real).

Good enough for me. I didn't realize it would be some sort of upstart cost.

Any ridership numbers release for the last few months? I imagine they’re down significantly, but a visual comparison might help to show just how much.

May is rebounding, but those numbers haven't been released yet.
