Not sure about deals, however, according to the website: $25 for bleachers and $50 for box seats.

Note: next Wedensday (7/12) Anastasia Myskina (ranked 11th in the world) will be here vs. Springfield.

What's the deal with the color scheme?

I've played a lot of tennis and never seen a court quite like it.  I know WTT isn't exactly Wimbledon, but I think I'd rather see the now common-place blue surface.

An article in the Star today said something about $10 tickets.

The 10 dollar tickets are for kids or students. Otherwise tickets are $25-$90. This is a pretty big venue for tennis...2,600. I doubt we will average more than 1,500

$25 - $90?????    Holy cow!  I'd rather go watch the Brigade!!!  Or the Wizards, or the Royals, or the T-Bones for that price!!!  Or any other team around here that's not the Chiefs!!!!!

I'm pretty sure the max is $50..  But, Yelp thats pretty pricey. Tickets for the early rounds at Wimbledon start at £25.

this may be a stupid question but is the tennis court going to stay up after the tourney or is this just temporary.

*okay, I just walked down there and it looks temporary, that was a stupid question.

Oh?  I thought the court was permanent but the stands were temporary.  Interesting.

The sod looks great, btw.  I wish they'd plow the rest of the tables and gravel under and put in grass.  But then all the residents would probably walk their dogs there.

Well, don't they have other events at Barney Allis Plaza?  Unless, they plan to hold them on a tennis court?!?!?!

kc star wrote:The court itself will be a permanent structure consisting of 5 1/2 feet of concrete topped by 2 1/2 feet of asphalt and will cover a 66-by-128 foot patch running north and south on the grassy area of the plaza. Temporary lighting and seating, including bleachers and box seats, also will be erected.

The only reason the seating and lighting will not be permanent is so that the equipment will not be vandalized.

Thats too bad...I always wished for a nice world class type of tennis court in KC...and DT especially...
