I think the ultimate goal of the Royals Sports Television Network is to be a regional sports channel and carry non-Royals sports. I would guess Big XII baseball, Brigade games, a lot of the stuff Metro Sports already does.

I'm sure they're having a tough go at it though, what with all the incompetence and all.

Metro Sports also shows the Canadian Football League, and old high school soccer games from 1997...

Well, who could forget that high school game from 1998 when Grandview West beat North Kansas City in that miracle last-second goal to go to state!  That was awesome!

Oh, and there are 50 votes on this poll now, and it's 50/50!

25 people want NHL
25 people want NBA

Just give me a 3rd team!

Basketball is so much more fun to watch. I like high scoring games unlike hockey. I have been to plenty of NHL and NBA games, however; I think the NBA would last compared to the NHL fizzling out again.

I agree, but the NBA is only exciting in the Playoffs when the wanna be rappers actually step up their games and play to their potential.

on the flip side, Hockey is about the best sport to watch live.  It's constant movement, checking, fighting, slapping, etc..  It's a blast to attend hockey games... but it is very hard to watch on TV.

But i still say NBA

I think the NBA would help it's causes a lot if it would cut down some of it's regular season games. Probably at least part of the problem with consistent effort is that the season is too long.

yea, they tried bringing that up a few years ago, but the NBA owners weren't having it... something about not making as much money...

well cracka average scoring per game has increased in the nhl. a few years ago it was usually like 2-0 2-1, but now its more like 5-3 6-5. but if you dont mind me asking... which nhl games have you been to, as in each teams and arenas you attended.

I'd rather see NHL, because they play defense.

do we really have a chance at the NBA or is this strictly just dreaming?  I know about Seattle, and Orlando, but isn't there more NHL teams that are "looking" to move?

btw, anybody know anything about the NBA's weak salary cap???  Can KC compete in the NBA?

KC can compete in the NBA. San Antonio is a much smaller market than KC and count the rings!

As far as the NBA and defense, I think that's a myth at this point. Sure there are teams that don't play a lot of defense (Phoenix and Dallas) but there are also teams that play great defense (Miami and Detroit). Much like the NFL, you can find good defensive clubs and bad defensive clubs.

Personally, I think the up-and-down style of Phoenix and Dallas is much more fun to watch than a defensive battle. The league was god awful when everyone was adopting the Pat Riley - Knicks style of bruiseball and games were all in the 70s and 80s.

Actually, no.

Only one team is for sale, and, therefore a candidate for relocation -- The Pittsburgh Penguins. Any other NHL teams "looking to move" is purely speculation.

Seattle, Orlando and Portland of the NBA have all publicly said that there is a possibility that they will relocate.

Read more about it. www.kchockeybuzz.blogspot.com

Yes, because watching 27 timeouts in the last two minutes of an NBA game is THRILLING.
