Yep, two different buildings.
KCPowercat wrote: Thu Feb 10, 2022 11:01 pm Can that garage hold a tower? The city should push for that.
beautyfromashes wrote: Thu Feb 10, 2022 11:01 pm Is that all parking at the top!?!
Not sure I understand these posts. If we're talking about the Lux proposal, parking is the first two floors, remainder if apartment with rooftop amenity.

Here is another angle. Does this connect to the apartment building currently under construction?

To clarify. Is the square and the open building to the right (assuming these are garages) going to be built to support a tower? They should be.

Those are the already under construction apartments that aren't related to this parcel.

This area wasn't/isn't viewed as a part of downtown. Untested waters so developers went with what works, suburban style complexes with some urban aspects. Its really not big enough for a 3rd east/west road.
Not true. The Port Authority's 1990 Riverfront Masterplan (Cooper Robertson & Partners the designers of Battery Park City in NYC), which created Berkley Park and Riverfront Drive, continued the N/S street grid from Columbus Park (Holmes, Charlotte, Campbell & Harrison Streets) on the west end and created 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Street moving east with Lydia St. on the east end. There also is a third E/W street called Center Street from Holmes to Lydia. This grid created very urban development sites from Berkley Park back to the tracks where another E/W street called ASB Road was planned.
I'll post the drawings ASAP. Later Port Authority staff & Boards had different ideas.

There was a hotel proposed for this site too. Probably used a fraction of the land for the actual building. Would have looked terrible. This is much better.
Yes, there was one a while ago. There have been a few concepts worked on this site since then.
Which hotel is still in development? I'm thinking of (I believe) the Origin hotel proposal from last summer. Was thinking that was set for this parcel?
Origin is middle of the park.

Separate buildings and owners. There is a street between the 2

~20 floor casino hotel proposed at Lake of Ozarks. Something of this size would be a nice end cap at the riverfront

Hope that casino at the lake would be on the Bagnell dam strip. It needs something big. And a hotel that size is needed with meeting facilities. Missouri groups that must convene within the state and want a central site have been exiting the aging former Tan Tar A and Lodge of 4 Seasons for Branson.

If you haven't been over there, construction is in full swing.

First priority is constructing the new temporary entrance. The last time I walked over there (early January?), the steel structure was on site.

Sounds like the city will help pay for the ped/bike bridge after all. Streetcar line has inflated 6m for a further east terminus to better serve the stadium.

Will the higher cost be covered by the fed grant? Or is local matching going to have to fill in?

I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the local match is taking care of the jump in cost. There's also 22.5m in the ordinance to improve bus stops and sidewalks I'm pretty sure the council votes on it today.

Does any one know the timeline on the start of the new ped/bike bridge? Or is it tied directly to the start of the riverfront extension.
