I meant to say every KU fan in the core. That being said KU is definitely the dominant team here. KU gets alot of extra casual fans who don’t have a “college team” because of how strong their national brand is for basketball. Their fans have been packing the urban core on tournament gamedays. Especially the final four, it was crazy downtown. Can’t wait to see it on Monday night.
but Monday is school night for most, and the game doesn't begin until after 8? Probably not a weekend crazy crowd, and the crazy crowd will heard to Lawrence
It will be very busy downtown tonight. Most 25+ have no desire to be in that mess on mass street.
I don't think they'd be too crazy about PNL either

4,000 people were ok with it Saturday and I’d say the average age was 28+. That’s what I saw when there anyway.
Where else you going to watch a game on a giant HD screen for free?

Grown ups have PTO for situations like this. People watching in Lawrence will be college kids and they skip class on a regular basis anyway.

Yep. I was there last night- absolutely jammed packed.
Through KU doing this whole tournament, P&L must've made bank

P&L seems pretty full when I walk around it. 85% is believable in terms of the entire district

Includes that space as well. Once it's demolished for a new hi-rise, occupancy rate will jump 3% or more.

Metro retail occupancy is near 95%, most w/out incentives. Plaza is about 85% but the owners are in bankruptcy territory. Urban core below 5% vacancy even with Plaza/P&L poor occupancy.

Have been noticing the sidewalks and entrance areas to the district have been very dirty. Is no one power washing these areas anymore?

Both sides on Main. I know those aren't the most busy blocks activity-wise, but they're looking a bit drab and grungy.

Yes. I know some conversations surrounding the NFL draft and empty retail being utilized have happened.
