Man I wanna go to NY so bad!  I want to take a trip there sometime this summer, but don't think I have the money.  I want to make it work.  Maybe I'll just go and stay at a cheap hostel if I have to.  Anyway, great pictures!  Best city in the world.

Why were some of the cops in riot gear outside the Empire State Building?

I love visiting NYC but it ain't cheap.  I've been 3 times and the last time, my partner won the trip through work so we flew first class from LA and stayed in the Grand Hyatt on Park Ave., right across the street from the Chrysler Building.  It seems like the room was around $300 per night.  Even so, I spend around $400 in 5 days on food, entertainment, cab an subway fares.  If you've never been, it's worth saving up for a trip.  I was there a couple years ago and stayed with a friend in Queens.  It was interesting to see how more average New Yorkers lived on that visit.

It's pretty cheap to fly there.  I've gotten tickets in the last couple years for as low as 120.00.  I've been very fortunate in the fact that I don't know how much the rooms cost since I have friends that live in Manhattan.

In reference to the awesome pics, all I can say is "That folks is a REAL downtown."  That's how it's done.

I agree.  Made a pit stop there when I was in the military.  Hong Kong and Singapore are also very impressive cities in Asia.
