Probably just latched on to the plaque in the bathroom that says Al Capone Pissed Here and ran with it. Hopefully the menu is better than fried ravioli apps and spaghetti with a large meatball.

That bathroom has been wiped clean. They demoed the entire floor.

That's a shame. The bathroom and floor were very cool.

The Rieger Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri is a former hotel that was erected in 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.[1]

One of the most recognizable buildings in Kansas City's Crossroads Art District. On the northwest corner of 20th and Main Street, the Rieger Hotel was built by local entrepreneur Alexander Rieger. The hotel was originally utilized for traveling businessmen but was also known to host Al Capone when he would stay in Kansas City due to the building's proximity to Kansas City's Union Station which made for quick escapes.

UGH the floor with the R insignia was amazing. I used to go there when it was the Dixie Belle, then 1924 Main and even had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the Rieger. So sad to hear about the space potentially losing so much of it's personality.

I shouldn't have said "floor". I meant that level. This is only from looking in the windows but it was down to studs/walls. They may have kept the actual flooring.

wise guy opens tomorrow, reservations on resy.

Green Dirt is amazing. They spared no expense on this place and no way the Royals buy them out, they will have to build around them.

Really excited for the old Kenton spot since it will include a restaurant and pocket park. Expect the city to get rid of the unwarranted traffic signal at the intersection. Will totally transform that corner.

Posted on another thread......I'm on an east coast trip. The 4 wheeler antics happen even here on streets that are 22' wide and have pedestrian enhancements. I'm convinced the only thing that can stop these are police enforcement. Cars going fast on the other hand do seem to respond well here to curb bumps and other traffic calming measures. In New York, we saw many cheap and easy bump outs made of planters or stone blocks.

Some of the boulders are flat on top and make for a nice bench
