I think the mural's pretty cool as it is, it's just that particular spelling that needs to get fixed. Why don't you like the mural?
KC Region is all part of the same animal regardless of state and county lines.
Think on the Regional scale.

I'm an artist, and that sort of art is unappealing to me. It's just personal choice.

Re: "Truman Blvd"??
I know we know this guys background. He was homeless or something...graffiti artist...can't remember. He was commissioned to do this...BUT...
As a possibility, when working with big letters, I'm told it's very easy to misspell words. For instance, Price Chopper in Lee's Summit had "GO CHEFS" in HUGE block letters on their front windows a few years ago. When you work big, you're interested in the overall form of each thing, like the letter "P" and not so much the spelling. Just a thought.
But like Fang said, maybe he just can't spell.

Or maybe it was just a simple spelling mistake that will be fixed as soon as it is not 20 degrees and snowing.PumpkinStalker wrote: But like Fang said, maybe he just can't spell.

I think we can count the homeless thing out. He doesn't sound like he was homeless based on lack of intelligence. I think PS is right, probably an accident based on doing a large scale model.

Austin used to sketch pictures at the Lava room a few years back, I have a few of them, drawn of me in my drunken stage.

Well, the 'Ape aring' part is fixed, but it still doesn't make sense to me.KCDowntown wrote: Just drove by - it is already fixed.
The actual card posted above reads:
APPEARING AT Sweet's Ballroom
OAKLAND CALIFORNIA
IN PERSON
The mural reads:
APPEARING AT
IN PERSON
This text stretches the entire width of the mural with no spaces in between lines. Looks like it's final. But, what does Appearing At In Person mean?
Re: "Truman Blvd"??
Maybe they plan on adding more when the temp isn't below freezing? But I could be totally wrong.

Well, yeah, that seems logical. But, with how the text appears currently, it doesn't look like there is any room to add more text.

They do not want to advertise Oakland CA in the KC P&L!
Re: "Truman Blvd"??
I was kind of thinking it might go off to the right in the blank spot, but it would still look odd.KC-wildcat wrote: Well, yeah, that seems logical. But, with how the text appears currently, it doesn't look like there is any room to add more text. :?

Has his link been posted before? It's painted in the corner of the building temporarily:
