Kansas City - Cancun: 1/18/2025 to 6/7/2025, 1x/week on a 737
Kansas City - Puerto Vallarta: 1/25/2025 to 4/5/2025, 1x/week on a 737

Sounds like some of Alaskas expansion may overlap with Apple vacations.

PVR was one of the most underserved markets from KC. I'm hoping this is the start of an Alaska eastern expansion using KCI as a base of that expansion.

Ehh would hope but it was a mass expansion of vacation routes. STL and other cities with Mexico traffic got routes.

I just saw the Provo airport is getting a direct flight to Paris. Come on man, why can't we get something, when a smaller metro out west has their main airport and their 2nd airport both with direct flights to Europe....

I don’t think they even have a real airport terminal. Don’t think this is true. A lot of click bait fake Paris aviation news including that Southwest would fly there from Missouri…. All fake

Edit: The Provo mayor announced it on her official social media pages but made it seen like it was a direct flight but its really via connection... They got me

Read deeper. They are getting American flights to connect to hubs not a direct to CDG flight. Lol settle down.

Direct to Paris!*

*via DFW, or PHX if you want to transfer to the Air France flight, which is in an entirely different airline alliance

Direct flight means the plane doesn't change but has a connection but is the same plane, nonstop is no connection/stop

Glad someone clarified the terms “nonstop” and “direct”. One of my pet peeves when someone is describing their flight. I see it incorrectly used all the time.

There is no way provo mayor is using the term even kinda incorrectly. There is zero way the same plane landing in Provo is going to Paris

I was recently at RDU. Surprising that they have so many international flights. I get that it's the research triangle & very high tech but still. Last year they did 14.5 million pax. That's a lot of intl flights & destinations. Just surprised.

That would be great.

On another note, I predict Southwest announces MCI-PVR to compete.

I think what you mentioned plus a lot of major universities nearby and major pharma companies all help. They have had the London N/S for over 20 years
