Drove past it today, & there's a sign that says a Local Harvest store is going in there. Nice to get a LH on 39th, but does anyone know what's up with the Nutty Girl? I love their Smoothies.

Word in the neighborhood is that she just got tired of running a restaurant. She will still be supplying sandwiches to various places around town, such as the Broadway Cafe.

The sandwiches and smoothies are uber-tasty there, but I've always had the feeling that they'd just as soon not have anyone there bothering them when I go there. It wasn't the best service on the planet. I'm more likely to go to Broadway for a nutty-girl sandwich now anyway.

Nature's Harvest is great! Fresh herbs and spices within walking distance!

Ah...thanks, Danger. I know the NG wasn't owned by the originator anymore, but I'll still be sad to see it go. But at least some of the products will still be available elsewhere.

Staubio - you might wanna doublecheck & make sure the sign I saw on the building did indeed say Local Harvest. We were zippin' by there pretty fast yesterday.

Definitely Local Harvest. Anyone notice if Nutty Girl's Crown Center location is still open?

Yeah, and not Nature's Harvest as I said above. :-) That is my favorite granola bar.

Their Crown Center location has been closed for 2 years now.

local harvest is open now. I sure an glad to have a neighborhood grocer. I popped in the other day and they had my favorite gingerbeer (reeds extra ginger) and fresh banana nut bread. The vegies on the center table were beautiful to my eyes. I just wanted to drop everything and shop and cook a hugh meal. all I can say is welcome local harvest and thanks for coming to 39th.

KC Region is all part of the same animal regardless of state and county lines.
Think on the Regional scale.

boo.

i really can't imagine that local harvest would make much money.  how does the Crossroads location stay in business?

also, if the P+L District is indeed going to feature a large Whole Foods, i'd say that would pretty much wipe out LH.  :(

I think they were a better fit in the River Market.  Since they moved from there to 39th, I haven't been there much.  I would always buy stuff from them while I got my produce on Saturday mornings and they'd be a great place to stop in for neighborhood residents.
