Building Indentification

Hello all, This is my first post here and I'm on a mission for The Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The long of the short is....

I grabbed a still from one of their cameras to use as the new header photo on Kansas City infoZine web site and asked permission to use it. They kindly said yes, but.....

They asked if I could help them identify and get addresses for the buildings in this photo. They will then figure out the distance from the camera to the buildings and post it, ala the St Louis screen http://www.dnr.mo.gov/alpd/esp/aqm/archcam.htm

It's a still grabbed from their "air quality camera" located , ( I think ) on Blue Ridge Mall. So this is looking west. ( nice sunsets ) you can check out the camera and the pollution at this url http://www.dnr.state.mo.us/alpd/esp/aqm/kccam.htm

Thanks all for your help, I've marked 16 buildings, but I think number "4" might be pollution.

# 4 really might be something.

Also, now you'll see a tower far left, anyone have an idea what and where that is?

That new one could be BMI.

...and I'm assuming #4 is in the Crossroads. What is that building near Soho South lofts? It might be tall enough to show up.

I think #4 is the Bartle Hall pylons. That would explain why it looks so fuzzy... and the position is right from that angle.

#15 is actually 2 buildings. The left 2/3 is the federal courthouse. The right 3rd is one of the residential buildings. Might be The View but the angle doesn't look right.

15...16 might be the Metropolitan (formerly Pinnacle Apts), and the Metropolitan. I believe both are taller than the SBC building.

Well, I haven't been here to correct any of you since i've been in Chicago... but here are ethe buildings:

1. San Francisco Tower
2. IBM Plaza (Former Mutual Benefit Life Building)
3. Hyatt Regency Crown Center
4. Bartle Hall Pylons (I can't believe you guys didn't notice this in the photo)
5. Power & Light Building
6. Downtown Doubletree Hotel (now is known by another name)
7. AT&T Longlines Building
8. One Kansas City Place
9. 1201 Walnut
10. Town Pavilion (Transamerica Tower)
11. Jackson County Courthouse, Federal Building, Bryant Building (all three different buildings, the majority of it is the Federal Building)
12. Commerce Bank Building (not Commerce Tower)
13. City Hall on the left and Oak Tower on the right
14. Commerce Tower on the left, Fidelity Ntl. Bank Tower (909 Walnut) on the right, Federal Reserve in the foreground
15. Federal Courthouse
16. Metropolitan Condos and SBC Building
17. The Views (former Vista Del Rio)

#15 turns out, afetr I went and looked from another angle, to actually be a conglomeration of at least 4 to 5 buildings. But I'd say the list is close enough.

My guess for # 4 is that it is in downtown KCK... it's way in the background, that's why it's so faint.

well, nothing in the KCK skyline is that tall. Since KCK is 1 mile from the downtown loop and probably 4-5 miles from that location that'd make that building taller than the Downtown Doubletree Hotel, but no building in downtown KCK is taller than 16 or 17 floors.
The bartle hall pylons are 350-360ft tall and the downtown doubletree hotel is about 300ft. If you look closely, the faded image is taller than the doubletree hotel.

I think #4 is wrong....like DMW said, it's probably a KCK building....but looks cool.

sorry to argue, but if you look at number 4, you can see 4 different figures and all go below the horizon and the bottoms of them align with the P&L Tower

And like I said, no tower in KCK is that tall. The pylons are 360ft tall and the Doubletree is 300ft tall, if you look, they are both near the same height with the pylons slightly taller.
