Liberty approves plan to change city’s historic downtown

Post by alejandro46 »

. New lofts, new shops and restaurants, and hundreds of new residents are what leaders expect after approving a new plan for Liberty’s historic downtown.

Members of Liberty’s City Council adopted the first phase of a new downtown revitalization vision plan Monday evening.

Members of a taskforce have been working on the plan since April 2023. They spent months evaluating downtown Liberty’s potential and the best way to bring businesses and people to the area.

The process included a review of current plans and initiatives. It also accounted for how land and buildings are currently being used, according to the city.

I'm glad to see they are doing this. Liberty could also add a lot of apartments along E. Mill Street.

They should do townhouses along Prairie and Mississippi instead of SFHs.
