This was posted on Reddit. Grocery price increases in Kansas City are among the highest in the nation.

As one of an elderly couple living on a fixed income, I can attest to this. Thanks for posting this. Nice to know it wasn't my imagination. I'd say that I can understand how old people wind up eating canned cat food, but the price of cat food is sky high, too.

For those near Waldo, the Aldi store at 75th & Wornall is still a relative bargain, particularly compared to the Kansas-side retailers. You do need to look carefully at the produce, as Aldi seems to sell more bruised fruit and vegetables than others, but the prices are often half the cost.

And why is Arlington, TX so much lower than Fort Worth and Dallas?

Actually, for their sample basket, KC is below the national average. Not so bad.

Actually, for their sample basket, KC was below the national average - KC $25.54 vs national average $26.20 - even after a higher than average rate of increase.
