Would be super cool to see a FIFA watch party here. Hope there's some follow through on this project.

So all that’s needed for the Ferris wheel is a foundation permit? Some more established names are attached to this now.

“There, 3D Development looks to build Pennway Point, an urban artifact park planned with a climate-controlled Ferris wheel and outdoor miniature golf course, both by ICON Experiences. The Maryland entertainment company also operates The Wheel at St. Louis Union Station.” - https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/ ... trict.html

I have more faith in the wheel getting built than 3D’s entertainment zone

The Lumi Museum outdoor neon displays could make this a big Instagram selfie spot too.

Looks like the Ferris wheel location moved from the northern edge along the rail lines to the southern edge along 25th

Hadn’t it always been southern

Yes, I think so

I also don’t understand the cynicism with this project. Sounds pretty cool, in a spot that could encourage some walkability to Boulevard Brewing or Penn Valley Park

No, the original images (linked or posted earlier in thread?) showed the Ferris wheel on the northern edge by the rail lines:

The southern location is new.

I think the “nice” renderings have always been the same but you are right with that

How you going to pvp from here. If the green line goes in this could be a cool offshoot to that.

this project is peak cringe. need to focus less on gimmicky shiny objects and more on urban/pedestrian fundamentals.

pedestrian fundamentals gave us that mess on grand... give people a reason to come downtown. gimmicky or not, if it brings any kind of foot traffic it's good in my book

This project supports core downtown strengths: regional vacation weekends and conventions/events.

Permit filed for the Ferris Wheel. I expect this to be around the size of the one in St. Louis. 200'

The awesome part about this is the ferris wheel at night as you're going along that highway. Looks so dynamic as you're going by the city. Can prob see it from a good distance away too. The visual is the biggest positive of this project by far.

My partner and I actually went up in the one in STL. It was a cool experience, though I doubt if I would go back a ton of times. Visually, I would agree, there is a lot of impact. If it's a tourist drawl, so be it, just means there's more people downtown.
