Nice the alcoholic chiefs coach/son got a pardon.

At least they have money to pay for some things.

Not a pardon. A communion of his sentence. He will be on house arrest until Oct 2025.

Still BS though.

I wanted to make a joke about Parsons consuming the transmuted blood and body of Christ in a strange ritual in order to accomplish this, but who knows, he may have actually done something like that. Anyway, I think it's a commutation.

I was just thinking we got to vote what body they all had communion over:

"Now, in deep respect for our nepotism, we'll all take a bite of [name]".

The news reports the Chiefs lease will be 25 years with 3 five year extensions for a total of 40. What are the terms of the extensions?

Did the world cup renovations just start? I was watching a video the Chiefs just posted 2 hours ago of Hollywood Brown touring the stadium and it looked like equipment in the background had ripped out a section of the lower bowl.

Yeah I'd assume that is what that is.

Lower bowl demolition is on the home side so I don't think this is part of the world cup renovations as they are making the field wider on the visitor side according to the previous renders. Maybe this is just making the tunnel entrance wider to make it easier to set up concerts?

What I can't wait for is the Arrowhead renovation AFTER this one. In 30 years, Arrowhead will be old enough to be seen as a classic structure masterclass, kind of like how mid-century modern houses are now sought after and super-valued. The narrative will switch from "how do we modernize this 1960's structure to make it feel brand new with new amenities and technology" to "How do we remove all this stuff they bolted on and get back to the original clean lines and shape?" I hope I'm here to see it.

Just a reminder that Kansas only earned $7 million from sports betting for it's first full year. Sports betting tax revenue will not pay for a stadium alone in either state so we don't have to worry about Kansas being able to use that to build the Chiefs a $2 billion dome capable of hosting superbowls/final fours like they may want. I also don't think the NFL or NCAA would have any interest in hosting events at the legends when so many cities have downtown domes and Chicago and Nashville are about to join that downtown Dome list of cities like Detroit, Indy, New Orleans, etc They aren't hosting their event in a field in Kansas over downtown in a cool city.

MO has twice the population, and some of that $7 million is coming from MO residents living in KC that drive to KS to bet, so you can expect that to go down once MO legalizes it. Let's say the state of MO offers the Chiefs $10-15 million/year from expected sports betting revenue, there would still be a big gap in funding to fill.
