Rugby World Cup

USA is pursuing the rugby WC men’s event in 2027 or 2031 and the women’s in 2029. The process just started but KC is undoubtedly one of 30 cities interested in hosting.

Looks like Australia is the preferred candidate to host the 2027 men's World Cup and the USA for the 2031 World Cup

These cities are competing to host rugby events for the tournaments: Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Baltimore; Birmingham, Alabama; Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Glendale, Arizona; Houston; Kansas City; Los Angeles; Miami; Minneapolis; Nashville, Tennessee; New Orleans; New York/New Jersey; Orlando, Florida; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; San Diego; San Francisco; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.

20 but may expand to 24 teams will participate.

NFL, MLB, and MLS stadiums are in the running
