As much as I ignore this guy, this is a new one. What is his deal with Menards? Also, this is a terrible idea.

The algorithm behind this particular bot apparently hasn't been updated since the late '90s and has failed to account for a) there are vanishingly small differences among regional/national chains and b) online shopping exists.

This project leaves me a little disappointed. It should be a true urban infill project, but I think they fall short of true urbanism.

Main issues:
- Leaving the massive garages untouched & ADDING surface parking lots to the existing campus
- Situating most of the new eastern development in traditional office park/retail strip setup
- Forcing all residential development to the periphery of the site

Overall it feels like a de-evolution of Lenexa's City Center, when it should be an improvement on it.

Aspiria brings a Silicon Valley business bubble to Kansas City
...
Aspiria will renovate the old Sprint campus in late 2021. Their new campus project is approved for mix-use zoning—meaning 60 of the almost 207 acres on the property will be converted to a community gathering space.

“We are excited to move forward with the city’s support to develop an energetic and innovative space for the people of Overland Park and the region,” says Gary Oborny, CEO of Occidental Management, the company that owns and manages Aspiria. “The vision is coming to life as we take another step toward re-energizing the area with an unprecedented mixed-use development.”

In addition to its corporate tenants, Aspiria plans to include waterfront office space, retail spaces, restaurants, luxury housing, sports and fitness facilities, and green space.

It used to be Bloomingdales, Meijer, and Hastings. At least we're finally on chains that have a chance of opening locally, most of the time.

It's a Wichita developer, and Wichita developers can't even get their own downtown or shopping areas right.

Florida company that as far as I can tell did not have a presence in KC just signed a lease for over 100,000 square feet. Cool to see the campus helping attract companies to the metro

TMobile to cut 7% of its workforce (~5,000) jobs by the end of September with a focus on duplicate back office roles. Unclear at this time where those jobs are located

I know Andretti's Indoor Karting and Games will open up on a parcel here. It's a 108,560sf building.

Here are the plans eluded to in that BizJournal Article. It'll be heard during the April 8th planning commission meeting.
