I wish them well but I imagine every musician that ever played at Davey's would get nauseous upon entry. I get queazy just looking at the pictures.

Reading this and I can smell the stale booze and regret that would welcome me every time I went there

How come no one starts screaming gentrification for dive bars?

I loved Davey's old dive bar feel. A fun place to go and watch music. It's a shame that fire and then a freak/tragic car wreck claimed the "lives" of 2 dive bars for awesome live music (Davey's & Hurricane (Riot Room- but I'm old & still called it the Hurricane).

However the pics and such look like a cool place that I will need to check out. Don't think of it like losing a dive bar but having the place restored to its former glory before it became a dive bar. The more places we can have to listen to live music the better. It will get old and a little dingy over time
