* Staff says fix it
* Neighborhood says fix it
* Policy says fix it
Advance and do pass!
Writing them will do nothing but I did it anyways.

The Council will do nothing but pass it now. I'm guessing they are afraid that any obstacle will cancel the entire project, and the City will need the increase in economic activity downtown now more than ever.

That article is pretty uncharacteristic of Star development reporting especially regarding our neighborhood complaints about bad design.
Nice to read.

This fear was shared by the CID testimony and it sounded like B&M as well. With many other downtown projects getting shelved, I find myself leaning towards just approve it
Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore
It's worth keeping in mind that it was the city planning staff itself that was pushing the developer to add retail on Baltimore rather than 14th (in its written recommendations). None of this would be happening if not for the fact that the city STILL does not have any sort of formal, mandatory design guidelines (form-based code or similar) so that developers will design things correctly the first time around instead of having city staff beg for a token effort to make a project less terrible.

Is this not a podium design.. with a building on top??normalthings wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 3:40 pm Creating a garage that can be converted in the future would require constructing a podium garage instead of what is proposed now.

It is, it's just that it's hidden in the current design. Their point is that making the decks flat, and thus convertible to different functions, will make the garage half of the structure larger and thus create a more pronounced podium effect.

Approved with Quinton as the tiebreaker. All that had to happen was to send this back to committee for some modifications. Developer ignored us during the whole process. That move would have gotten their attention. Unfortunately, Q is always playing the long (Cleaver) game.

It seems progress is moving quickly here. Will they bring in a second drill?

Some type of sewer or storm water holding tank had been installed over the old limestone cliff.

I know this isn't what it could've been (re; ground floor retail...) but I'm excited to see this go vertical.

Under normal circumstances I’d still be bothered about the ground floor, but right now I’m just happy they’re building anything
