Yeah I’m with you, none of these buildings are very exciting
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
It looks odd to me because its shorter than the buildings around it. Looks like it should be 3-5 stories taller
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
Even suburban locations of Alofts are more interesting architecturally than this.

I like those new planted bump-outs at that intersection!
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
Makes it a regular 4 way intersection instead of the old 5 way.
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
Nice infill project.
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
That intersection was always a cluster. I like this project but wish it had more visual character. Right now it fits right in with the old condo building to the east.
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
This will piss me off until the day I die.
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
Stayed at the Cascade on one of my nights in KC. Nice hotel and great addition to the plaza. Good to see hotels still interested in the Plaza.
Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
The hydrant. You wouldn't put a hydrant in the middle of the street. The vegetation island is RIGHT THERE, just extend it over.
Old sidewalk can be fixed, landscaping can too. That hydrant is never moving.

Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway
It’s a lot more difficult to move a hydrant than just “put it over there” for what it’s worth, depends on the depth of the main water line, and the stem height for the hydrant.
