also the illegal left turns from northbound Grand are frustrating.

It appears they started putting the garage facade up on Main. A charcoal color.

I took the drone out today. Additional photos can be found in other threads and in the "Chris Stritzel's Drone" thread.

Beautiful Chris. Thank you.

From the angle facing southwest (in your photo); one could be forgiven to ask, " Is that Kansas City?"

Consider this: All buildings in that camera angle are less than three years of age..

That's pretty neat. (Great photography.)

Awesome shots Chris, thank you! 1400 building looks great from this height and SW angle...

I like the first photo view as well. It really shows the transformation that's taking place. Reverb, Two Light, Residence Inn/Courtyard, Three Light, Loews, and 1400 are all visible. All were built over the past 6-7 years.

The second photo is my personal favorite of the bunch since you're closer to the street, the Power and Light Building is just barely visible, and you can see more details in the older buildings.

That 1400 building really turned out nice. It contrasts well with the other new buildings.

The gradual increase in scale of the light buildings directly next to their neighbors helps them blend well into the area, rather than just a small building completely dwarfed by a much larger one side by side.

Garage facade going up. Sidewalk level looks to be coming together quickly too. Makes me wonder if the Main Street sidewalk will be the first bit to open before the building is even topped out. Probably a long shot, but it seems odd to be installing glass on the ground floor already.

Garage facade material is just as ugly on 3 Light as it is on OCW

Did they actually get air rights to build over the sidewalks, or is somebody just making an expensive mistake? It seems crazy that this building is being built with zero, or even negative setback.

The sidewalk is on their lot. You can see it on KC Gis. Best view was when they surveyed the parcel before building 3 Light.

The public sidewalk is still to the left of that pic.

This is why I’ve never been worried about a “glass wall” as some have voiced. It’s a valid concern but I’ve felt with the difference in design and height, it will look great and not like a wall of 4 matching buildings.

Everyday another piece goes up and everyday the podium gets uglier.

You really hate that look!

I’m kind of just blah on it. Think I’ll like it when it all comes together.

I like that dark corner facing south on Main. Looks like an electronic sign is going in that rectangle?

Beautiful pics and super impressive progress. If memory serves, 2 Light, 3 Light, 1400KC, and the Loews hotel were all surface lots. More of this, faster!
