Finally, the city is doing something good for the Crossroads! A new ordinance will be passed this week that will grant a "blanket" liquor license for the Crossroads Arts District. It will allow for free wine and beer at First Fridays, and allow patrons to take their drinks onto the streets within the district. This move is stunningly fast for the city. Way to go Cauthen!

Now this is the type of service we should expect from the city. Nice work.

I hope this gives even more momentum to the Crossroads as the city has clearly sided with the galleries and what they are doing for the city. This is wonderful news.

It's a small victory, but good news anyway. It's still disturbing that someone working at City Hall only recently discovred First Fridays, and even worse that they weren't on the same page as the other people city hall working to improve the downtown scene.

Now let's see what the city and county do about the property tax crisis.

What crisis is that? Is there a problem in the city with its tax collection?

I predicted this one, but thought it'd take as long as Spring to change the ordinance.

Awesome news! Who do we have to thank for the so un-KC like speed of this correction? Do you think Cauthen is really behind change like this in City Hall? If so, then three cheers for old Wayne !

Well yeah. But I would call that more of an issue with the nature of property taxation. It lends itself to crisis.
