I didn't even realize there was retail in the Skelly building. Panera Bread is there but there's not much additional ground level room for retail.

two things:

1- I also didn't realize there was retail here.
2- Everytime I walk by this building, water falls on me. From somewhere. I don't know.
I forget there's a Panera on the Plaza

Wow, Seasons looks like SHIT. I really really hate that place. Soft surroundings and Eddie B as well. Just really horrid, cheap looking facades that do not fit into the Plaza. Highwoods needs to sell or start keeping higher standards. Why don't they understand that the ARCHITECTURE and Spanish flavor is what makes the Plaza popular. Every year we slowly chip away at our crown jewel.

I hope for its 100th anniversary we can do a total renovation of the classic plaza buildings.

Why couldn't Seasons just put up umbrellas like a normal restaurant or if they HAD to add an overhang, do it the right way. They put up the cheapest shit possible it seems.

Maybe a stab in the back to the Save the Plaza ppl??

I think they just don't understand what they are dealing with in KC. It will hurt business - why would they purposefully do that?

I think you don't understand how people don't care how a restaurant looks if the food is good

take Oklahoma Joe's for example

OK Joe's did not alter the appearance of the Plaza. Kansas Citians's are pretty protective of the plaza if you haven't noticed. Some won't care obviously but there was a fairly intense campaign to stop the restaurant initially from making the alterations (and they stopped), changing things in flight won't cost them the bulk of their customer base but I suspect enough will be turned off that Season's 52 will feel it.

Oklahoma Joe's is nationally renowned for having some of the best BBQ in the country.

I doubt Seasons 52 is up to that standard.

People go to OK Joe's specifically for its ambience.

It's not.

Steering back to the facade alteration, does anyone know why the Save the Plaza people have been completely mute on this?

I love the one in Union Station. Outstanding selection of obscure local titles.

If OKJoes moved to the Plaza and errected a gas station facade, people would take issue. good food notwithstanding.
