Craig Glazer is temporarily opening a Sanfords in the Uptown. From the Hearne article it sounded like he'd like to be there permanently, as soon as he can find a space.

Plus the Ambassador reno in the next block.

Would like to see the stretch in green developed with a long narrow coffee cafe with outdoor seating along sidewalk with significant wall of greenspace. Would hide the hideous stripmall from Broadway too.

Or they could just develop a 4-6 level garage/housing in entire lot with streetfront retail on all sides, including facing the existing stripmall - I've seen this done in San Fran with an old multi level strip mall. There is tasteful signage on each corner of garage that shows all tenants. That would really boost this area. TIF would be reasonable for garage portion in this case if free to public. And the neighborhood would love to take event parking off their streets.

I'd love to see a place like Brit's in downtown Minneapolis go into this center. There would be enough space and cost could be done since it's less popular than Westport or downtown. Put the lawn bowling on the roof.

Thought there was a mention of Sells wanting to build housing as part of this endeavor. He doesn't have the best track record in KC, but more housing would be great, if realistic

What's Brit's about?

Hugely popular English pub theme, but the big draw is they have lawn bowling on the roof. The best place for it would be the open space next to the Jones pool. I really liked the place and unique among cities I've visited.

Edible Arrangements is open between the Hookah bar and Sprint store.

Not sure what's going on with Mr. Goodchicken, but their hours seem a bit spotty, if they're still open at all.

I think this will finally be a winner in this cursed location. The bar looks great as well as the decor

Krokstrom Klubb & Market Eyes Broadway Jazz Club for New Scandinavian Restaurant
McLean and her boyfriend, Josh Rogers – who will run the front of the house at Krokstrom Klubb & Market – are now in final negotiations to lease the former Broadway Kansas City space at 36th and Broadway in Midtown.

“When we saw that it was a corner location right on Broadway with a nice large parking lot in back, and that the space is listed on the National Historic Registry as being a former German beer hall, we knew we had found the perfect place,” McLean says.

^Wish them luck, this area of Broadway is really hit or miss in terms of restaurant success.

I hope with the continuing MAC Properties overhaul in the area and the renovation of the Congress Building, that this strip will be able to retain tenants. Sad to see Broadway Jazz Club go.

I hope they can make a go of it. Scandinavian probably has a limited market - they'll need to be on top of their game with a great product until word gets out.

Yeah it will be very limited but it should attract the foodie demographic if its outstanding, doing a quick search there really isn't anything like this in any of the large cities of Texas (Outside of Ikea) and the one in Denver looks like it just closed up so it definitely unique. I guess this kind of opening shows our diversity as a restaurant city powerhouse, i just wish we had more people to support all our great restaurants.
