The Wichita Eagle reports a to-be-named team from the KC area to play against teams from Wichita, Sedalia, Sioux City and Tulsa, with additional teams in Springfield and Omaha (Council Bluffs) in line. Sounds like something compatible with the Indepence arena.

They will play in Kemper Arena.
Star players already signed include . . . Diyral Briggs, a member of the Superbowl winning Green Bay Packers, former K-State standout Quarterback Carson Coffman and former Mizzou defensemen Cornelius "Pig" Brown and Tommy Chaivs.

Team seems to be unnamed although rumor is they are trying to bring back the name "Brigade."

They aren't completely gone, they are now Kansas City Command, currently 3-12.

What a freaking joke. Sedalia is playing against KC in Kemper arena? Sedalia? Why would anybody go to those games. AFL is a very low end sport as it is.

Should have moved the Command to the Events Center or even Muni and they may have had a chance to stay in business.

From KC Command's Wiki page:

The Command played the 2012 AFL season finishing 4th in the Central division at 3-15. On August 23rd, the team announced that they were shutting down operations and would not be returning to the AFL for the 2013 season. However Kansas City will still be fielding a team in 2012 in a new league known as the Champions Professional Indoor Football League. The new team name and logo have yet to be announced.

If I'm not mistaken wasn't the whole reason why the Brigade and Arena Football became so popular here is because we took on a team from New Orleans that couldn't play because of Katrina. Then the next year or something we got our own team

I dunno, I bought season tickets the first year because they were cheap and I was intrigued by the idea of indoor, high-scoring football. I really enjoyed the first season, went to all the games. Then they hiked the prices and I never went again.

1. The Kansas City Renegades will play in a new league called "Champions Professional Indoor Football League."
2. They will play their home games in Kemper Arena.
3. The CPIFL has 10 teams, including one in Sedalia, Missouri.
4. Tickets start at $20, but could be reduced to $10.
5. They will be Kansas City's most stable sports franchise.

I'm pretty sure my grandmother could play for these guys.

A joke of a team, in a joke of league, playing in a joke of an arena...is still probably KC's most stable sports franchise. :(

So she is in better shape than you?

To get back to the subject at hand, I can't see the team selling that many tickets. Wonder if ticket sales will be confined to only the lower level?

That was sarcasm. They are clearly not KC's most stable sports franchise. I was taking a shot at the owners of the Royals and Chiefs.
