Allowing sidewalks to deteriorate into un-usability, campaigning for 30 years to keep bikes off of sidewalks, then making separated bike lanes (which is basically what a sidewalk is), and then having to "rebrand" those bike lanes as glorified sidewalks is why people doubt the effectiveness of government.

The merge lane markings are all ground off and should be minimized when they are painted.

Met a man on a Penny Farthing while taking these photos. That was interesting.

What's the policy with city clearing snow from bike lanes? Looks cleared on Gilham, not at all on Armour. If a person is really dependent on bike to get around, and city policy is to encourage this, riders have a winter predicament.

I don't believe there is a policy, but they do have the equipment for it now.

Thought this was just for clearing debris from the lanes, and they had a side-by-side with a small plow for snow?

NOFO for this year's round of funding for Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law went out yesterday. I sent to Bunch, hopefully anyone else in City/KCATA/MARC who lurks here can send it up the chain. https://www.transportation.gov/grants/SS4A
