...
Officially dubbed the Strang Chef Collective at lightwell, the chef-driven venture will feature a duo of restaurant concepts — Verde and Panacea — in the lower level of the office building, right across from the new Made in KC Cafe.

Its current opening date is tentatively targeted for mid-November, with an exact date yet to be confirmed. The eateries will be open for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner.

Was hoping to try these before leaving KC for the winter. Looking forward to next Spring and hitting all the new joints.

Unsure if it’s been mentioned yet, but KCBJ is reporting that Wichita based Professional Engineering Consultants KC based team is going to occupy the 18th floor of Lightwell. They’re moving from their prior office space at 1301 Oak, so not a relocation from outside DT. They’re only reporting 12 full time staff right now, but seem poised for more expansion, as they doubled their team last year. More occupancy in that tower with full time staff is welcome news regardless. Article linked below:

The New York real estate development and investment firm recently secured new debt from Security Bank of Kansas City, backed by the 30-story building at 1100 Main St. The landlord obtained financing in an original principal amount of $63 million, with up to $126 million in future advances, according to a Dec. 19 leasehold deed of trust.

SomeraRoad said its new loan will capitalize future tenant improvements and buildout costs at Lightwell, allowing the building to reach full occupancy by continuing to attract and retain tenants.
