Grooms Cake: What Should My Third Building Be?

My Grooms Cake will be the envy of KC if the cake decorator can pull it off. I am actually planning on recreating the Western Auto sign, and having it light up with mini battery powered lights. It won't do the chasing feature, just steady on. Hey, you can't have everything. I'm also thinking of a way to light up different LED's to make the KCP&L building more authentic. But I need one more building and can't decide...How about some suggestions?

What??? You're list is kind of limiting, don't you think? How about including on your list other KC icons, like the Sprint Center, TSC, Crown Center, KCI Airport, Worlds of Fun, Kemper Arena, Swope Park, Longview Community College, The Cheesecake Factory on the Plaza, the rest of the Plaza, KMBC's new building, KMBC's old building, PAC, KC Live Block, light rail, the Fairway BP gas station, West Bottoms, East Bottoms, Paseo Bridge, Southern Overland Park, KCTV 5 Tower, 3rd & Grand, River Market, City Market, River District, City Hall, Lee's Summit Wal-Mart, The Ledgends, or the Gateway Arch?
Actually, nevermind my suggestions. My vote is for 1KCP. It's classic and iconic - PERFECT, IMO! :P
You do plan on posting pictures of the cake, right?

Hey Mr. History man - do Vaughn's Diamond. Used to sit at 9th & Main & Deleware.
Used to be a traffic cop there to alert people to the trolley cars coming down the hill on 9th toward Main. He'd shout "WIDE AWAKE!!".
Here's a MO Valley Spcl Collections photo. There's postcards of it as well. Uniquely Kansas City too!

An awesome idea actually, complete with the now elusive mansard roof. It would need the OWL Cigars sign on it though!
In other news, I found a model train company that makes a working Western Auto sign. I bought it online soon as I saw it. How flippin awesome and dorky is that?

KC One Place, as cool in real life as it is might be boring in cake form. I'm thinking New York Life....I just need a plastic eagle landing on a nest. Union Station would be a runner up.
I like AllThingsKC's idea of Light Rail. I could have an artist rendering in cake form.

I thought about the Liberty Memorial, but I think, from a cake-logistics standpoint, that you're better off with a cake that is wider than it is high. Union Station would be good. Maybe the Empire Theater?

I found that! I was all ready to make my own when I saw that online. I already ordered one. Thanks for the heads up though in case I had missed it.

How about the DT Marriott? You could cover it in hundreds of little christmas lights and have it show messages to the wedding party all night.
Or the Hyatt Regency CC - you would have a smaller round cake sitting on a turntable on top so it slowly spins around all night.

In an effort to maintain a hint of dignity, I recommend doing without a "groom's cake." Asking for another white dress to wear alongside the bride as well?
